*Pascal compiler for the 51 family
Does anyone know of a Pascal compiler for the 8051 family? I know that there is a KSC Pascal but I know someone who uses their Modula-2 compiler and it''s got a few nasty bugs.

RE: Pascal compiler for the 51 family
There is a Pascal compiler targeting the 8051 available for free (I think) from someone in South Africa. I have heard that it produces good code but when I looked at it a year or so ago I couldn''t get past the clunky user interface. I''ll see if I can find a link and post it later.

The Pascal compiler for the 8051 I mentioned can be found at http://users.iafrica.com/r/ra/rainier/.

There is apparently also a compiler of unknown quality which I think was originally written in Russia. I have seen it referred to as the ELPROG compiler but that is all I know. Try searching for that using Google.

Embedded Pascal for the 8051 isn''t free (costs $129 I think) but you can download a demo which can generate only a limited amount of code.

I had a look at it a while back and got a fresh copy of the demo recently. It doesn''t seem to have changed much if at all so I don''t know if he''s working on it still.

A little late but anyway....
Try Turbo51

http://turbo51.com/

microcontrollers. It features a fast single pass optimizing compiler, Borland Turbo Pascal 7 syntax, full floating point support, mixed Pascal and assembler programming, full use of register banks, advanced multi-pass optimizer, smart linker, generates compact high quality code, output formats include binary, Intel HEX and assembler source.
