| Fast multi-byte counting |
|
I have an application that needs to quickly increment a four-byte number and check if it has reached zero. Multi-byte arithmetic is a bit cumbersome on the 51 architecture - the code I have implemented uses the classic add, add with carry approach but I'm wondering if enyone has a smarter way.

The PDA44-QFP is an emulation footprint adaptor for use with PDB-series daughterboards for the PDS51-Mk2A (and earlier PDS51-Mk2 and PDS51) emulator.
It provides conversion to the footprint corresponding to the 44-lead 10x10mm 0.8mm pitch quad flat packages LQFP44 (SOT389-1) and TQFP44 (SOT376-1) available for a wide range of Philips 8051-derived microcontrollers, and similar devices from other manufacturers.
This adaptor comprises a solder-down part, a header board which allows the emulator-target interface cable to be connected, and a cover plate which alternatively allows a production LQFP44-packaged microcontroller device to be installed when emulation is no longer required. All necessary mounting hardware is supplied.
Note that this adaptor cannot be used for emulation of the P8xC591 device in association with the PDB591-551 daughterboard. The equivalent adaptor for use with the PDB591-551 daughterboard is the PDA44-QFP591.
Note also that this adaptor is not compatible with the PDE-series daughterboards associated with the PDS51E emulation system.
